A big decision has been made to kick off 2025 and it involves our movement space at the rear of our clinic. For the past 5 years, Christina Darras has been offering yoga classes to both the public and patient’s of the clinic and has developed a strong, loyal following which is no doubt due to her gentle nature, dedication to practice and of course her kind disposition.
However, an exceptionally rare and unparalleled opportunity has presented itself in the form of a well established and highly credentialed pilates business occupying the studio space.

Pilates Lab (Formerly in Mordialloc) is a leading Pilates studio dedicated to putting clients first, offering a modern approach to the Pilates Method that caters to individuals of all ages and fitness levels. The studio is committed to empowering clients to move their bodies and achieve optimal physical and mental well-being through personalized programming and in-depth technical knowledge. With a focus on strength, flexibility, balance, and overall body awareness, Pilates Lab provides a supportive environment where clients can improve functional movement, reduce stress, and enhance their overall quality of life.
Owned by Val Robinson, a highly qualified Diploma APMA Instructor and accredited member of the PAA, Pilates Lab is run by Val and her colleague Sarah Schoknecht also Diploma qualified and a member of the PAA. They are experienced Instructors who are passionate about helping clients achieve their fitness goals.  From tailored small group equipment classes to private and duo sessions, the studio offers a variety of options to suit individual needs. With a maximum of four clients per class, Pilates Lab ensures personalized attention and guidance, allowing clients to benefit from the transformative power of Pilates in an intimate setting.
With a strong emphasis on technique, correct form, and individualized plans, Pilates Lab is a go-to destination for those seeking to improve strength, mobility, and overall well-being. Pilates Lab is excited to announce new class times to their schedule. Join the fabulous Sarah on Wednesdays at 10am, 11am and 12 pm, as well as Thursdays 4pm.

As a pilates participant myself, I can personally attest to the high standards that Val sets. Her attention to detail (trust me, she watches you like a hawk!), integration of top quality equipment and her dedication to preparing a varied, yet individualised program week in week out is second to none.
The new studio will be beautifully fitted out and whilst it will be sharing the same premises as POC, Pilates Lab will have its own dedicated entrance at the rear of the building (entry off Birdwood Street and immediately behind the Burgerlab building) and will be operating as an independent business.

In continuance with the ‘two thousand and twenty thrive’ theme, I see the collaboration of osteopathy, massage therapy and pilates working incredibly well together. Our complementary philosophies and underpinning core values in striving for optimal movement and function are well aligned and we are so excited to offer this combination to our entire patient base.
