We are thrilled to be witnessing the transition of Tayla Rhodes from receptionist to qualified Osteopath in 2020! Having been with the POC family for 4 years, Tayla is excited to take on her new role. Tayla is passionate about building therapeutic alliances with her patients in order to work together to achieve their goals, whether that is running marathons, doing the gardening, playing with their grandchildren or simply managing their pain well.
Initially Tayla studied a Bachelor of Health Sciences at Latrobe University with an interest in Prosthetics and Orthotics. Her change of heart came after seeking Osteopathic treatment herself and since then, there’s been no turning back. Tayla has always been drawn to a career in health due to her interest in community and passion for helping people. This is demonstrated by her involvement with Oakleigh Crushers VAFA Football club as a sports trainer for the past 2 years, attending to the treatment and prevention of game day injuries. She has also been an integral part of the SES Healthwatch team who seek to educate and identify cardiovascular risk factors among the volunteer community throughout Victoria.
Tayla is interested in the treatment of all kinds of ailments, from top to toe, treating all ages from children to seniors. In 2019, Tayla participated in an exchange program to the University College of Osteopathy in London where she discovered the real capacity Osteopathy has to help a diverse population. Whilst there Tayla experienced the treatment and management of patients during pregnancy, infants with varying conditions and even those living with HIV.
Outside of the clinic, Tayla plays local soccer and regularly attends group training sessions. She’s also an avid traveller and self confessed crazy cat lady (with 10 fur babies).
Tayla is available Mondays (1pm – 7pm), Wednesdays (9am-7pm), Thursdays (1pm – 6pm) and Saturdays (8am – 2pm).
