News flash!!!! Something NOT Covid-19 related!

‘One change always leaves the way open for the establishment of others‘. Niccolo Machiavelli

I feel this is a poignant quote when I reflect on the immediate landscape at Parkdale Osteopathic Clinic. As many of you would know, Shaun Richardson is leaving our team after 9 years of amazing service. I have had the pleasure of witnessing Shaun’s growth and development from a pasty, wide eyed new graduate into a remarkable practitioner, whose calm demeanour belies a thirst for knowledge and determination to forge a successful clinic of his own alongside his (more than capable) wife Claire.

And as for the pastiness…? Well, that’s still there!

I would like to take this opportunity to wish both Shaun and Claire every success, especially in this uncertain climate, and embellish the changes that come with parenthood and business ownership.

Now…. back to the aforementioned quote….

With change comes an exciting opportunity for another Osteo to join our team, and it gives me great pleasure to introduce you to Dr Shane Campbell (Osteopath)!

Shane graduated from Victoria University in 2013 with a Bachelor in Health Science and Masters in Clinical Science (Osteopathy). After working in private practice, Shane took a job working as a private osteopath working with professional athletes on the LPGA (women’s professional golf tour).

Since beginning his job with the golf tour Shane has travelled the globe extensively, and revelled in the opportunity presented to him working on some of the best female golfers in the world. He uses a combination of hands on therapy including dry needling, manipulation and some more gentle techniques and also uses his knowledge in rehabilitation and strength and conditioning to help patients improve their movement and decrease their pain.

Shane prides himself on communication and making sure that both the practitioner and patient understand what is happening within the patient’s body and can build the best plan for the individual. He thinks that this, along with a good idea of what the patient can do at home, work perfectly to help improve one’s health and well being.

Shane will be commencing his first shift on Saturday 1st August 2020, and will be available for appointments on the following days:

Wednesday afternoons:             From 1pm – 7pm

Thursday mornings:                    From 8am – 1pm

Friday mornings:                          From 8am – 12pm

Saturday mornings:                     From 8am – 2pm

A quick note from Shane…….

‘Having grown up locally (in Dingley) and graduated from Victoria University (VU) in Melbourne, I have spent the last 6 years travelling with the LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Tour) as an osteopath working with these athletes in all facets of their health and wellbeing. During this time I have continued learning from many great therapists from around the world and I plan on bringing that knowledge to help the Bayside community as I begin my journey here at Parkdale Osteopathic Clinic.

I am very much looking forward to joining the health care community in the area and If you have any further questions I am more than happy to answer them moving forward.’
